baby bedding

so i'm thinking about making the bedding for our baby's crib. is that crazy? but i figure, since my mother is a genius when it comes to any and all things sew-y, and since i'm going to be home with her in california this summer for the WHOLE month of july . . . why not give it a try?! and well, if i totally screw up, then i have her nice and close to fix it! so, i've just started looking for material, and i've found a few gender-neutral prints that i really like from sew mama sew. but i would LOVE to have your opinion on which pattern you like best!

i think that's awesome you want to make your bedding! are you going to find out what it is? i like the owls too. oh, and about the chicks, my neighbor who took the pictures just had chicks at her house for her kids for easter... i probably should have put that! miss you!

My vote is the owls too! I can't vote either.

I say owls. I'm in the group of people who can't vote on the poll. The only issue with that color is it's difficult to match (I should know, that's nearly the same color as our nursery). You can totally make your own bedding. I don't think it's nearly as hard as it looks--plus the clincher: custom made bedding. So cute. :)

I like the monkeys... but I love those colors. I like that, with each fabric, there is a lot you can do with other decor. It will be a fun room!

My prediction: you'll want your own sewing machine and will go crazy with sewing projects! Good luck!

so apparently our little poll thingy doesn't work, so I appreciate your comments!

amy, yes I can't wait to get my own sewing machine--I think that may just save me in Biloxi! and I know peter's really excited for all his new clothes that I will be making him! just think sound of music...wouldn't he and our baby look so cute in matching liederhosen?! (I have no idea how to spell that...)

oh and jamie, yes, we will be finding out the sex, but I'd still prefer to have my nursery in neutral colors. we also don't find out the sex for a couple of weeks, and I'm just getting a little anxious!

I like the monkeys or the bunnies better than the owl. We will have fun sewing this summer!

I am all about those monkeys! Love the colors! I made gender neutral bedding for max...warning: it's going to be hard, and you will probably curse yourself for even thinking about making your own bedding, but when it's done, you'll be glad you did it. GOOD LUCK!

I like the third one with the bunnies! It looks asian. asian plus babies equals awesome awesome awesome! Do it! I love sewing and sewing machines. Even though I keep buying fabric and never sow. David got me one for my birthday and I havent even opened the box! I want to make an apron! Maybe I should get lessons from your mom as well. Cant wait to see you this summer!!!!

I like the first pattern the best. I am no sewing genius, but was also able to make my baby bedding...you can do it, sister!

gotta go asian bunnies

Why is it so funny to me that Nick commented on this. That said, I too like the "asian bunnies" but I also like the owls too.

And I agree, a sewing machine in Biloxi will equal many fun projects! :) You'll be a pro in no time!

The bunnies have the "Girls Day" dolls Emperor and Empress hats on them. (Plus the Empress fan and stand).
I'm just taking the doll display down and was so interested in the bunny pattern.

Looks like the Frandsens (including me) are going for the Asian motif.

Peter and Emily: did you notice the little mochi shaped liked diamonds below the bunnies at the bottom? This is definitely patterned after the Girls Day doll set.
Emily: Let us know what pattern you pick.
