calling all cyclists!

for quite awhile now, i've been fantasizing about become a cyclist. it's a pretty noble aspiration, i guess. i've been day dreaming about owning my own road bike and riding to work (roughly 20 miles). today marks the day that that vision is forming in my mind's eye.

thanks to a supportive and loving wife and many helpful relatives and friends, i bought the bike of my dreams. i seriously love it. it's perfect. see for yourself.

anyway, a secondary aspiration of mine is to ride the Saints to Sinners (click here for the official site, you can also click on the button on the sidebar) race this summer. It's relay bike race from salt lake to vegas in either 5 or 10 person teams. Plus, the race donates a portion of the proceeds to ALS-Lou Gehrig's disease research/support. So, with my new bike in hand, all i need now is a racing team. luckily, the team is starting to take shape, but we can always accommodate the willing. so let me know if you're down to ride.

so for the inaugural ride this morning, since the weather was a very cooperative 59 degrees, emily, will, and i made our way out to legacy parkway for a morning ride. it was awesome. i felt like a total speed daemon. (that was of course, until i turned around. i didn't realize we were riding with such a kickin tail wind. and it wasn't a very kind head wind)

and now some unnecessary self disclosure. check out my stats/map: total miles: 14.82. it was a good intro ride into my dreamy desires.
calling all cyclists, seriously, if you want to ride saints to sinners this summer, let me know...!

That IS a sweet bike. Did Will like the ride as much as you did? I'm glad all your dreams are coming true.

I took my Nike + for an inaugural outside run today. Somethings in the air... I'm liking the 59 degree weather!

your bike and your car match. I've been itching to get outside and run, but something tells me this weather wont last.

Sweet ride Petey!! It is really pretty. I love the white and black... sleek shape. Glad you love it.

Went out for a run today, too. Spring fever to be sure.

But I need me one of those...

New car too?? New wheels galore!

thanks stevey. they are just a wee bit manlier than your home made cut-off denim shorts and black v-neck shirts...

VERY impressive. I, too, noticed that your sleek white bike matched your Prius.

Stephen: Many Hollywood types are also driving Priuses, even though they can afford other cars. Peter and Emily are GREEN through and through and 50 miles/gallon isn't bad.
